Question I have a 2004 PW80 that has been in the garage for a year or so. I brought it out
and cleaned out the gas and ran carburetor cleaner in it, but when I go to start
it, it idles loud and fast without even touching the throttle. It's hard to start and
won't stay running for long. Do I need a new carburetor?
Answer It looks as if the setting in the carb is wrong, it could well be the choke is sticking on , so it will rev more on sart up, and after a while will stop as there is too much fuel and not enough air getting into the carb. Check you choke cable for play and also clean any filters in the fuel system as fuel does go like a gel after a while
