Mozilla Firefox - Menuitem bar appearing suddenly

Expert: Oriol R. - 9/9/2007

Question
Dear Oriol R.,

http://img528.imageshack.us/img528/4364/20070909172841ou5.png

last time I used Mozilla Firefox was okay, but after i installed the update of the Java Applet and download helper, A bar called "Menuitem" appeared under the status bar.

It is taking 1/5 of my browser place and I can't surf the net hapily with this annoying thing.

Is it a problem with my ativirrus program kaspersky, which I used to scan my computer and deleted some treats, or a problem with the update or What is it?!

Eagerly waiting for your reply. Thanks!

Regards
William.

Answer
Hi William,

After looking that screenshot, I'm almost sure that what you see under you statusbar is something like an error console, or a debug panel. I mean, something is wrong with that update (bad programmation, an error in the code... whatever) and that makes this panel appear showing you the error and an "arrow" pointing to it.

I'd recommend to uninstall the Java Applet plug-in and re-install it. If the problem persists, try to install an older version and wait for the next version before upgrading.

Hope this helps.
Regards,
O.R.
