First i must excuse my poor spelling... My name is Itai, leaving i Norway westcoast, Bergen.
My question is maybe a bit off-side your experteas, but you have a broad bakground, so maybe you cuold help, or know someone who could ?
I newly opend a Café. (Its very popular, I have many nice gests :) I play bakground music from cd's using an ordinary but good sound system. Next week I get a high speed internet connection. I would like than in between cd's to play internett redio stations, using winamp (or anything else)for selecting stations. I am not sure how to aprowch, and have the following qwestions :
1. Kan i do it without a pc ? Any kind of device that connects to the internet and soundsystem, allowing searching sellecting and changing stations ?
2. If i must use a pc, can I do it in such a way, that the music is playd by the sound system, not by the pc sound card ?
I would be grateful for your advice.
If in Bergen, welcome at my Cafe !
Greatings
Itai
Answer Firstly, you must understand that any public broadcasting of music, from CD or internet radio, without the appropriate licence is illegal. So you would need to make sure that you have everything you need, before you did this.
If you do use a PC, the best thing to do is connect the "line out" from the pc to an auxillary input on the sound system, such as the tape input connections. This will allow you to play the sound through the sound system and not through the PC speakers.
