AboutChuck Expertise I am a professional musician, I can play by ear, I arrange music write music, teach music in the public school system, and teach privately. My father was a school music teacher, and I have written three volumes for teaching beginning string players, taking them from scratch to high school level. I have performed in a local production of Music Man (musical) with celebrities John Davidson/Susan Watson and have my masters degree in education. I retired from the classroom in 2004 with 38 yrs. experience-now still substituting for music- and writing arr. for my cello trio(with two audio cd's and one dvd of a performance)
I have directed church choirs and am principal cellist in our local community orchestra. I really love to arrange music for the groups I perform in and sing and have music in my life every day. A day without music, is a mistake, like having a day without sunshine.

Question Hi, Chuck, I was happy to see in your description that you sing barbershop as I had a question. A friend who also sings barbershop will be traveling to Paris and London in September and she would love to attend a barbershop concert or two. Trying to help, I found websites with listings of organizations and groups in the U.K. but I couldn't find a single word about barbershop singing in France. Are they too snobby to sing it or what? Sorry, that's rude I know but really, do you know how to find out about any BBS groups or concerts in the Paris area? By the way, last night we heard the chorus Voices in Harmony and there was a visiting American/Canadian barbershop quartet called Realtime who were international champions in I believe '05 -- they were terrific! If there's any better music than that I haven't heard it! :-) Anyway thanks for your help!

you were at a concert near me, one that I had wanted to attend, but had a performance obligation myself and couldnt' attend, my friend sings in a quartet that sang in the afterglow, who is in the district champion quartet. This group, V.I.H. is the second best chorus in the bbshop world, and the quartet is the best one in the bbshop world, (no one has scored higher points than REAL TIME)
I can give you contacts that I have and suggest you contact them to get the information you desire. I personally don"t have that knowledge, but I can direct you to people who can put you on the path to getting that information.
