Musical Composition, Theory, Songwriting, and Singing - combination of pentatonic and 12 step scale

Expert: Doglas Yeo - 9/25/2007

Question
m  not a musician so please answer   my  question in very  simple
words.I m a student of  traditional  chinese  medicine
and I  guess it should be  a combination of pentatonic and 12 step
scale in traditional chinese  music which end up in famous 60  cell  cycle
.Can you  please  give  me  notes (frequencies, octaves )of  60 elements
of this  cycle or it might be just 12 repetition of pentatonic  on
different octaves  ,but  again  it  would  be  very  handy  to  have
notes/freq of each of these sound
thank  you  very  much
edward

Answer
Hi, the pentatonic scale is made up of 5 notes.
In the key of C, this would be C,D,E,G,A.
(There are 12 keys in music, namely C, C#, D, D#, E, F, F#,G,G#,A,Bb,B)

For a list of frequencies, visit

for a convenient table.

Hope this helps! (And by the way, I'm curious to know how is music related to Chinese Medicine :) )
