Question QUESTION: m not a musician so please answer my question in very simple
words.I m a student of traditional chinese medicine
and I guess it should be a combination of pentatonic and 12 step
scale in traditional chinese music which end up in famous 60 cell cycle
.Can you please give me notes (frequencies, octaves )of 60 elements
of this cycle or it might be just 12 repetition of pentatonic on
different octaves ,but again it would be very handy to have
notes/freq of each of these sound
thank you very much
edward
ANSWER: Hi, the pentatonic scale is made up of 5 notes.
In the key of C, this would be C,D,E,G,A.
(There are 12 keys in music, namely C, C#, D, D#, E, F, F#,G,G#,A,Bb,B)
Hope this helps! (And by the way, I'm curious to know how is music related to Chinese Medicine :) )

Connection music chin medicine -very simplified -
our body created from 5 elements repeated several times(12 ?) in different order.Pentatonic is strong representation of these 5 elements in music .I m afraid to mix it with 12 luj system(theoretically its very seductive is it possible to do practically?)
Than another problem might be an individualizing this music but to do it i ll just need each time different

In order to do the above, you probably require some sort of MIDI program such as Cakewalk, Finale or Sibelius.
Those programs do not have any chinese instruments, but there are several close substitutes. For example the harp/steel guitar can represent the guzheng.
