QuestionHi. I thought that the Tin Men movie contained a version of the song "I only have eyes for you" done by the Fine Young Cannibals. I cant find it anywhere online. Was I hearing things on the movie?
AnswerOK. . .you probably have already seen this, but the Internet Movie Data Base (imdb.com) has the following songs listed on the soundtrack:
"Sweet Lorraine" (Performed by Nat 'King' Cole), "Social Security" (Performed by Fine Young Cannibals), "Good Thing"
(Performed by Fine Young Cannibals), "Hard as It Is" (Performed by Fine Young Cannibals), "Tell Me What" (Performed by Fine Young Cannibals), "Try a Little Tenderness" (Performed by Otis Redding), "All the Things You Are" (Performed by Jo Stafford), "You Belong to Me" (Performed by Jo Stafford), "The Girl From Ipanema" (Performed by Freddie Stevens), "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" (Performed by Gene Pitney)"In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning" (Performed by Frank Sinatra), "It's Not for Me to Say" (Performed by Johnny Mathis), "La Bamba" (Performed by Ritchie Valens), "His Latest Flame" (Performed by Elvis Presley), "How Insensitive" (Music by Antonio Carlos Jobim), "Wishin' and Hopin'" (Performed by Dusty Springfield), "Life's Too Short" (Performed by The Lafayettes).
Now, keep in mind. . this is not to say that you didn't hear "I only have eyes for you." The deal with soundtracks is that even though something may have been in the movie, it might NOT have made it on to the soundtrack. If a part of a song was used, the music producers may have decided NOT to put it on the CD soundtrack of the film. If that is the case, and they own the rights to the recording, it may never end up on any album anywhere. This is probably what happened. You probably DID hear it in the movie, and the only way you're ever going to hear it again is to rent the DVD of "Tin Men." Sorry I couldn't be more help. - JIM
