Musical Genres--Folk, Jazz, Sountracks, More - Tropical Music

Expert: Thomas Grond - 8/26/2006

Question
I dont know if it was ever that popular, but I have heard examples of a genre called Tropicalia.  Probably 40s, featured simulated jungle sounds, bird calls, lush music.  Do you know of any performers, records, or titles of that genre?  It sounded good, easy listening.  Thanks!

Answer
Dear John

As I don't know this genre I went and had a look on wikipedia.org. And - they really have an article. Please try the URL http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tropicalia and you will find info about this genre which is much more than music and links to key artists.

Hope that this helps.
Cheers
Thomas
