About Lisa DesGroseilliers
Expertise
Keeping up with music gossip, news, media, and facts is my favorite hobby. I am also a musician. I play the drums and the piano. If there is a song you like, but don`t know the singer, or if you want to know more about a particular artist, or maybe you simply want music celebrity gossip info - just pass me the question. I can also answer your music business questions pertaining to concert promotions, organization of a concert, and the channels you may have to go through to reach the person in the music industry that can help you get that record promoted or made. However the information I will have to give you will be based on Canadian resources as that is where I am based.

Question

idea the artist or the name of song - have searched & searched
i think this is from the early 80s...but not sure...

here are some of the lyrics

I don't know why you say you'll never understand me.
I don't know how you say you'll never know why we are torn apart.
When all your friends are telling you they know how I have been mistreated
whoa whoa
you see another guy, another guy, another guy, another guy, another guy, another
guy, another guy, another guy, whoa

come on and lie to me baby
come on and lie to me girl
come on and lie, come on and lie
in your way

I don't know why you try and tell me what your doing
I don't know why you think I'm interested in what you have to say
When all the time it’s always you we're talking about and I'm tired and bored
with hear'in it
gotta say, gotta say, gotta say, gotta say, gotta say, gotta say,
whoa

come on and lie to me baby
come on and lie to me girl
come on and lie, come on and lie

you say you love me
there ain't no one above me
you say you need me
you'll never ever leave
I've heard that talk before, but all it is is talk
Cause all you want is more and more and more and more

come on and lie to me baby
come on and lie to me girl
come on and lie, come on and lie
In your way

I don't know why you think you have to make excuses
I really not concern of what goes on inside your little mind
When all your friends are telling me they know that I have been mistreated
whoa, whoa

you see another guy, another guy, another guy, another guy, another guy, another
guy, another guy, another guy, whoa

come on and lie to me baby
come on and lie to me girl
come on and lie, come on and lie
In your way

Answer
Hi Jodi.

That is a lot of lyrics you have got there. I have a couple of ideas of who it may be, but I need to ask you a few more questions first. I am thinking this is a lesser popular song by a known group from the 80s, which is why it is hard to find information about it. The group no longer exists today, and/or the song never got to be that popular. Or did it? Do you know if this is a popular song or not? And, what is the style of the music? Is it metal, or a rock ballad, or pop?? My gut tells me it is a rock ballad, but if you can confirm that, it can help me.

Also, is this just part of the song, or is this "all" the lyrics? I am thinking it could be either Cinderella, Whitesnake, Skid Row, or something like that. It seems to fit their style, but if you can provide me the style of the music, I can research it more.

Thanks.
Lisa
