About Rawdha
Expertise
As-salaam o laikum! (Peace be upon you!)I can answer questions on converting to Islam, being a Muslim teenager, the rights of men and women, what is halal (allowed) and haram (not allowed), the Qu'ran, different cultural beliefs of Muslim-dominated countries, the current war, and I can dispute political questions as well. However, I will not answer sexual-related questions. I will try to answer your questions as best I can, InshAllah (God willing).

Experience
I have spent about two plus years studying Islam, the Qu'ran, and have converted to Islam. I have wrote essays and answered personal emails on Islam as well.

Education/Credentials
I'm currently in high school, and I have no specific credentials in the area, other than being a Muslim myself.

he says he will convert and i have already started teaching him about islam
we both have the same morals and virtues and i know my parents would love him if they took the time to know him
the problem is that they are very strict and want me to marry a pakistani muslim boy
i have met boys that they approve of but they are all sleazy and my parents dont know, they jsut think if hes pakistani then he must be a good boy
im scared to tell them of this boy,but i knwo that i will be very happy with him,and i dont know how to talk to them...
please help me.

Answer
As-salaam o laikum.

Sarah,

In Islam, parents cannot force their children into a marriage. You can (politely) turn down men your parents choose. Perhaps if you tell your Mother (as most girls are closer to their Mothers) that there is a man you wish to marry, and who is convertin to Islam, then they can meet this person.

Pray to Allah to make His will yours, and to guide you, the man, and your parents. Pray also that He makes His will your parents will. And Allah knows best. :)

I hope this helps.

Khuda-hafiz,
Rawdha

PS: Explaining how the other men are, that they are not honourable men (that you would simply be embarrassed to marry them) may help. :)
