Question
Salam
I am a 23 year old brother who was in a haram relationship with a Muslim sister for almost 3 years. Our relationship didn't progress to intercourse but there was some haram actions as we though we were going to get married. Our family's didn't approve and we couldn't be together.

I have no contact with the sister anymore but I've heard she has turned to the deen and is truely happy, I on the other hand can not move. After 6months I'm depressed and still thinking about her and need some advice on this matter and also how to get closer to my deen.

Thank you for your time

Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim (In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful)

Assalmalaikum

Dear Brother,

Instead of getting depressed you should thank Allah that he saved you from Continuing haraam activities and altogether sinning.

However since everything is over and its highly possible that a love vacuum does exist which needs to be fulfilled. Allah has give you a chance to correct your future. Therefore ask your parents/elderly to look for a good religious bride for you quickly so this pain is over and your biological requirements are met by halaal methods.

You should be also happy that the sister has regained herself and become religious and changed the ways so that Allah be mercifull to her and forgive her mistakes.

[Quran 9:102] And (there are) others who have acknowledged their sins, they have mixed a deed that was righteous with another that was evil. Perhaps Allah will turn unto them in forgiveness. Surely, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

[Quran 9:103] Take Sadaqah from their wealth in order to purify them and sanctify them with it, and Pray for them. Verily, your Salat (prayers) are a Sakan (security) for them; and Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower.

[Quran 9:104] Know they not that Allah accepts repentance from His servants and accepts the Sadaqat (charity), and that Allah alone is the One Who forgives and accepts repentance, Most Merciful.

[Quran 66:8] O you who believe! Turn to Allah (God) with sincere repentance: In the hope that your Lord will remove from you your ills and admit you to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow,- the Day that Allah (God) will not permit to be humiliated the Prophet and those who believe with him. Their Light will run forward before them and by their right hands, while they say, "Our Lord! Perfect our Light for us, and grant us Forgiveness: for you have power over all things."
