Question
QUESTION: Assalaam waalaykum.

I feel as if I am going astray I don't have connection with Allah I feel alone and always sad and confused.
When I feel this way I go back and just resure my self what my purpose of being here is and everything I go to is a test I don't feel better before I use to but now I'm not getting any comfort in my salaah or in reading yaseen life has just started to seem so though and unbearable.
When I make dua I don't feel at ease any longer, I have sinned a lot and I do repent and ask for maaf but now I feel as if almighty Allah has turned away from me due to my continues mistakes what can I do to feel connection with Allah again I just feel as if I keep going astray despite trying so hard.
I really do want to make Allah happy with me and attain jannah inshallah ameen. Please help?

ANSWER: Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim (In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful)

Assalmalaikum

Dear Sister,

I feel sorry to learn about your situation. When you said - " everything i go " what does it exactl mean ? Can you cite some incidents that make you feel low and depressed ?

Everybody sins - the difference between satan and us is that - satan didnt repent and we did. We thus became eligible for Allah's mercy and forgiveness and satan didnt.

Allah loves to forgive - thats why Allah says in the Quran

Quran [4:116] Allah forgives not (the sin of) joining other gods with Him, but He forgives whom He pleases other sins than this: one who joins other gods with Allah, has strayed far, far away (from the Right).

Quran [39:53] Say: "O my Servants who have transgressed against their souls! despair not of the Mercy of Allah: for Allah forgives all sins: for He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Quran [39:54] "Turn you to your Lord (in repentance) and bow to His (Will), before the Penalty comes on you: after that you shall not be helped.

Quran [39:55] "And follow the Best of (the courses) revealed to you from your Lord, before the Penalty comes on you - of a sudden while you perceive not!

[Quran 61:10] O you who believe! Shall I lead you to a bargain that will save you from a grievous Penalty?

[Quran 61:11] That you believe in Allah and His Messenger, and that you strive (your utmost) in the Cause of Allah, with your property and your persons: That will be best for you, if you but knew!

[Quran 61:12] He will forgive you your sins, and admit you to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow, and to beautiful mansions in Gardens of Eternity: that is indeed the Supreme Achievement.

in order to let your interest catch confidence again - please read the quran with translation - even few ayats per day is enough.

if you have non-muslims around - ensure that you spread the word of islam into their ears. Perhaps you can save some from the hell-fire.

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: Resently I have injured my leg badly twice actually on the same place. It has healed up the first time but 3 days later I was injured on the same leg again but more seriously as in I can't walk on it, its very painful and very hard to cope difficult to do things on my own, before getting injured I have hurt someone emotionally I have asked for maaf from that person and repented but ever since I have been injured I keep getting hurt falling and so on. Sometimes I think its a test or just a punishment from Allah. But also before that I have lost my job and is unable to get work for a long time, I've had problems with people putting black magic on me and my family although Almighty Allah has helped me through many of my situations and has always been there and answered my duas now I just feel no longer close to Allah and thinking of all these situations it makes me feel very depressed then when I go to read salaah or make dua I don't feel at ease or peace it makes me very sad. I just wish to be close to Allah again.

Answer
the shortest and the fastest cure to any problems - keep on reciting "astaghfarullah" vigorously in your free time. Allah loves repentance and will blot your sins immediately.

Please note that our suffering are nothing - just read the history and you will come to know how much the Prophet has suffered to spread islam.

Further if you get enough time...After your every prayer - kindly recite from he following.

dua/
---

dua qabool timings.

- last 3rd part of night (bukhari)
- between adaan and iqamah (ahmad/abu dawud)
- while prostrating (muslim/abu dawud)
- After each obligatory salah (Tirmidhi)
- During the rain (Abu Dawud & Ibn Majah)
- While travelling (Tirmidhi)
- On the Day of Arafat (Malik/Tirmidhi)
- In the month of Ramadan (Bukhari/Muslim)
- While breaking the fast-Iftar Time (Ahmad/Tirmidhi)
- While visiting the sick (Muslim)

[Quran 2:186] When My servants ask you (Prophet Muhammed) concerning Me, I am indeed close (to them): I listen to the prayer of every supplicant when he calls on Me. Let them also, with a will, Listen to My call, and believe in Me, That they may walk in the right way.

Bukhari Volumn 004, Book 052, Hadith Number 145.
-----------------------------------------
Narated By Mus'ab bin Sad : Once Sad (bin Abi Waqqas) thought that he was superior to those who were below him in rank. On that the Prophet said, "You gain no victory or livelihood except through (the blessings and invocations of) the poor amongst you."

Allah is more nearer to us than our jugular vein and He listens to our prayers and supplications directly.

Allah says in Holy Quran,

[Surah Qaf 50:16] It was We Who created man, and We know what dark suggestions his soul makes to him: for We are nearer to him than (his) jugular vein.

So the best way to ask Allah is to ask Him very humbly directly through dua and salaat.

AbuDawud Book 002, Hadith Number 1474.
-------------------------------------------
Narated By An-Nu'man ibn Bashir : The Prophet (pbuh) said: Supplication (du'a') is itself the worship. He then recited:

[Quran]40:60 And your Lord/Allah says: "Call on Me; I will answer your (Prayer):

AbuDawud Book 002, Hadith Number 1476.
--------------------------------------------
Narated By Fudalah ibn Ubayd, : The Apostle of Allah (pbuh) heard a person supplicating during prayer. He did not mention the greatness of Allah, nor did he invoke blessings on the Prophet (pbuh).

The Apostle of Allah (pbuh) said: He made haste.

He then called him and said either to him or to any other person: If any of you prays, he should mention the exaltation of his Lord in the beginning and praise Him; he should then invoke blessings on the Prophet (pbuh); thereafter he should supplicate Allah for anything he wishes.

AbuDawud Book 002, Hadith Number 1483.
-----------------------------------------------
Narated By Salman al-Farsi : The Prophet (pbuh) said: Your Lord is munificent and generous, and is ashamed to turn away empty the hands of His servant when he raises them to Him.

Bukhari Volumn 004, Book 054, Hadith Number 416.
-----------------------------------------
Narated By Abu Huraira : Allah's Apostle said, "When Allah completed the creation, He wrote in His Book which is with Him on His Throne, "My Mercy overpowers My Anger."

Shahi Bukhari Volumn 004, Book 054, Hadith Number 514
-----------------------------------------------------
Narated By Abu Huraira : Allah's Apostle (SAW) said, "If one says one-hundred times in one day: "None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, the Alone Who has no partners, to Him belongs Dominion and to Him belong all the Praises, and He has power over all things (i.e. Omnipotent)", one will get the reward of manumitting ten slaves, and one-hundred good deeds will be written in his account, and one-hundred bad deeds will be wiped off or erased from his account, and on that day he will be protected from the morning till evening from Satan, and nobody will be superior to him except one who has done more than that which he has done."

Bukhari Volumn 008, Book 075, Hadith Number 350.
-----------------------------------------
Narated By Anas : Allah's Apostle said, "When anyone of you appeal to Allah for something, he should ask with determination and should not say, 'O Allah, if You wish, give me.', for nobody can force Allah to do something against His Will.

Bukhari Volumn 008, Book 075, Hadith Number 351.
-----------------------------------------
Narated By Abu Huraira : Allah's Apostle said, "None of you should say: 'O Allah, forgive me if You wish; O Allah, be merciful to me if You wish,' but he should always appeal to Allah with determination, for nobody can force Allah to do something against His Will."

Bukhari Volumn 008, Book 075, Hadith Number 352.
-----------------------------------------
Narated By Abu Huraira : Allah's Apostle said, "The invocation of anyone of you is granted (by Allah) if he does not show impatience (by saying, "I invoked Allah but my request has not been granted.")
