Question Hi, ive invested in two good performing asian mutual funds in $ abt a year back. Presently they r down due to the declining dollar. Im confused whether to sell them now and break even or expect them to increase their NAV in 2008.The funds are fidelity sounth east asian fund and fidelity asian situation fund. Pls advice.
Answer Dear Rima:
Do you have an otherwise well-diversified portfolio? Or are those two funds mainly what you own? If, as I suspect, they're just about it, maybe you should sell them now, and put together a better-diversified portfolio--including a good foreign fund, like Dodge & Cox International or Julius Baer International.
Look up those funds you own in Morningstar Mutual Funds; and become familiar with that newsletter in general. You can find copies in most libraries.
