Question in the myth of arachne reveals that human beings could choose to please r oend the gods. Wat sin did arachne commit?
Answer Dear James,
This question seems to be a duplicate question from a set of questions sent to me in an alternate question order which I just answered but in case your question is a seperate question (sent by another James), the asnwer to the question is as follows:
Arachne was a greatly skiller weaver and she was extremely proud of her abilities. She was so proud in fact that she was a better weaver than the goddess Athena/Minerva who was a noted weaver herself. Athena was offended by this claim - a human claiming superiority over the gods due to excess pride is a common reason for the offense caused to the gods - in the Greek tragic tradition this is called exes pride or hubris which was a serious sin.
