Answer
I am not fond of Aphrodite, she is not my favorite goddess, so I dont have a favorite myth of her but there are not too many myths about her anyway.  She was reputed to have been selfish, self centered, etc.  Take a look at the Psyche and Eros myth and you will see.

She was born from the sea. A mixture of blood from Uranus' testicles when they were cut by Cronos ....the testicles fell in the sea ...  the mixture of sea foam and semen resulted in Aphrodite.... remember this is a myth.
