Question I was just watching a race from 2001 at Rockingham. On lap 3, while under caution, Dale's number 3 logo was used as a lap marker on Fox. I was wondering why they don't do that anymore? I think they should still silute Dale with that lap marker. Any thoughts?
Answer Hi Kenny,
It really would have lost its value and significance if they did it too often. That probably is this reason. Plus, dale's death was fresh on their minds. It actually happened in Feburary of 2001. So they just have a little memorial celebration at daytona every year.
