Expertise
I can answer any questions about drivers, cars, crews, teams, shops, championchips and any technical question about the rules and regulations of NASCAR. The only question I might not be able to answer is one that deals with the small parts inside the car that help the car's performance, but the stuff such as the body, engine, and spoiler are easy.

NASCAR Racing - penalty?

Expert: Coy Jordan - 3/30/2008

Question
Kenseth s two lap NASCAR penalty, like Kyle Petty s penalty inspiring the SABCO earnhartd paint scheme.

How can the NASCAR family glorify the intimidator Black Number three yet still penalize the 17 car for FAR LESS?

Earnhartd wannabe s have strict rules against violent driving tactics, yet NASCAR still glamorizes Dale.

Explain this please, to a NASCAR fan FROM 1991 TIL 1999, NOW a NASCAR critic!!!!!!! Because of this kind of crap.

Kensith penalized, yet Earnhartd glamorized??????????????

Answer
Hi Bob,

NASCAR has changed throughout the years, sad to say.  It originally started out as a loosely tied set of rules, which over the years have become more strict.

When Earnhardt was alive he was famous for his "rattle his cage" driving style.  He did it to move drivers out of the way, not to wreck them on purpose.  It was their overreaction that causes the wreck.  Anyway, NASCAR goes on what the driver's intention was.  If they had thought that Earnhardt had tried to wreck him, then they would have and did, penalize him as well.  He also contributed new thoughts and ideas to the sport, which he never feared to stand up at the drivers meeting to state his mind on something.

But with the wrecks, NASCAR goes on an individual basis.
Hope i helped!
