About Coy Jordan
Expertise
I can answer any questions about drivers, cars, crews, teams, shops, championchips and any technical question about the rules and regulations of NASCAR. The only question I might not be able to answer is one that deals with the small parts inside the car that help the car's performance, but the stuff such as the body, engine, and spoiler are easy.

Question
Gas Man: Empties two 12-gallon (81 pounds each) dump cans of fuel into the car's 17.75-gallon fuel cell. I found this on NASCAR 101 and was wondering how does 24 gallons fit into a 17.75-gallon fuel cell. Thank you.

Answer
Hi Meg,

Sorry for the late response, but i was trying to find your answer and could never find it!  I went back to the NASCAR 101 site and tried looking there.  I found the two twelve gallon cans, but not the 18 gallon fuel cell.  One possible solution is that they haven't upgraded the rules.  NASCAR recently reduce the fuel cell from 24 or 22 gallons down to the 18 gallon cell.  So i don't know the answer for sure, but that would be my guess!

Sorry i couldn't be of more help!
Coy Jordan
