AboutKatie Expertise I have a wide range of information on drivers, I have the most expertise with Brian Vickers, Jeff Gordon and Reed Sorenson. I have more than general knowledge on other drivers as well. I can also answer questions about statistics, rules, and almost anything technical. I only have a little knowledge of mechanics. I know the rules of the sport very well, and the sport as a whole.
Experience I have been watching and researching racing since 2001, I have many books on the subject and personal experiences from races. I talk to some of the drivers on a regular basis as well.
Question Hi, I am currently in the process of writing a book, and one of my characters has just resigned from the business and I know you have to have some kind of press confrence, but is there anything specific that has to be said in that? I will gladly put you in the acknowledgement section of my book with whatever information you are able to give to me. Thank you.

Answer There is no outline or regulations on what must be said when a driver resigns, but typically they will explain thier reasoning for it. They will usually reflect back on thier career, thanking who they've worked for and with. Generally media asks a ton of questions that they will answer. Resigning from the sport entirely doesn't happen often, more commonly they are switching teams, or retiring after a long career. But the same idea applies for any of it. Any major change in the sport and they sit down with the media to address it head on. If you want to get the general idea, check statements from drivers who have retired and switched teams, that will be a pretty good idea of how it would go down.
