Expertise
I can answer any questions about drivers, cars, crews, teams, shops, championchips and any technical question about the rules and regulations of NASCAR. The only question I might not be able to answer is one that deals with the small parts inside the car that help the car's performance, but the stuff such as the body, engine, and spoiler are easy.

NASCAR Racing - lug nuts

Expert: Coy Jordan - 3/22/2009

Question
hay man Dennis from va the boys and i at work were talking we use inpact guns alot on jobs we wanted to find out how does the trie man gets the gun  on the nut so easy and what shape are the nuts do they have a special socket they use

Answer
Hey Dennis,

There are 5 lugnuts on a NASCAR Goodyear tire.  They are nothing specially designed or anything like that, they are tacked on to the wheel by a spot weld or a special glue, so that when the tire carrier throws it on there...the lugnuts are already lined up with the tire spokes (the one the lugnuts goes on) and all the changer does is practice poppin' that gun on the nut as straight as a bullet since everything is already lined up.

Hope i helped.
Coy Jordan
