Question Hi there,
I am a nail technician though i only do my mums nails and mine at the moment. I am having problems with the white gel. It seems to be wet even after being in the lamp for 4 mins or sometimes i put it in longer to make sure they set. I have just changed my lamp which is a 34 watt lamp, but that hasn't worked. I have tried many different white gels but same thing happened but im using ibd extreme white gel. It was fine the last time i used it and this time round it happened on 6 nails. I make sure i prep the nail properly by removing shine from the nail and then i add bonder. I have also used many different bonders and primers but the same thing happens. Im using the Edge bonder at the mo. I also don't put the white gel on too thick as i am aware of this problem. So i don't know whats causing this. It just seems when i get to the filing part it's soft and dents. I did my mums nails three weeks ago and they were fine however when i came to re-balance them the white gel was seeping through and still wet.
Do you know what could be causing this as i ruins the finish?
Thank you
Sam
Answer I have not used IBD gel but we experienced a similar thing whilst i was teaching the girls at college, but it turned out to be the white being put on to thick.
I can only think that apart from being sent a dodgy pot of gel, its either to thick, not cured or oil is still on nail plate. As you say though you a doing a correct prep, i would contact IBD and explain or ask them to send you a new pot of gel, are you using the IBD clear to go on top, you are not using a different brandof gel?
Many thanks
