Subject: Designer tips still cracking and popits

Question
Hi Heather, I put a set of predestined tips on a client (L and P)two weeks ago and they are perfect but the predesigned tip is cracking, I did a set a week ago on another girl and they are doing the same thing. I bought my tips from beauty west.com is that a good place to buy tips? I was also wondering if I should paint the underside of the tip with something? Next topic, I finally found someone that speaks Spanish to order me the popits. I was wondering if they have a shelf life? How long will a box last me? I want to order a few boxes since I am having such a hard time getting them. Thank you so much, sorry for being so long winded.

Answer
Hi again!

Ah I wish I could be better help with these tips!  Where is the darn thing cracking? I am not familiar with that particular website, and the only tips I use at the moment are CND.  They only crack on me when I accidentally hit them with scrubfresh.

Where exactly are they cracking?  You should never need to put anything on the underside of a tip.  Your strength should be coming from the product you apply, not the tips.  There may be something to that specifically in this instance.

ANDDDD, as far as I know, Popits have no shelf life.  They do however have a USE life.  If you use the same set on the same client, they should last you about 3-5 sets and stay shiny on the finish.  In general i think it's always good to stock up if you like a product you have a hard time getting your mitts on :)
