Nail Care & Manicures - Gel nails in Miami, Fl

Expert: Joanna Panagiotidi - 5/19/2008

Question
I'm trying to find a nail salon in Miami that does real gel nails. I had "gel nails" done last week and after I did some research, I found that what I had done was just acrylic with a gel top coat. Most salons in Miami call these gel nails and they charge a lot more than for acrylic nails. Can you recommend any salon in Miami that does true gel nails? Also, is it safe to remove these nails and have gel nails put on right after? At the salon I went to, they buffed down my nails to the point that it hurt sometimes.

Thank you :)

Answer
Dear Crystal...

As far as it concerns the salon in Miami I could not possibly know because I live in Greece!
It is safe to remove and put right after gel nails as long as your nails are not buffered to the end! Buffering in order to take the acrylic or gel out is very bad for your nail so...try to avoid it.
Sorry for not being much of a help.

J.
