Nail Care & Manicures - nail wraps

Expert: Keeley Dennyschene - 6/18/2008

Question
Hi, I have been doing my own nail wraps using a kit I bought towards the end of last year and have had no problems maintaining my nails until my resin dried up. I have bought a product called 'wrapture' by star nails but it takes a lot of time to cure and within half an hour the whole overlay has a crazed cracked appearance. Am I doing something wrong as this was an expensive resin compared to some others I've seen or could my activator spray be causing the problem?

Answer
Hi Kirstin

Are  you in the UK, i have not used this product, is it a gel?  Are the wraps you are doing with silk or fibreglass or are they gel overlays, if you have been using a resin, this tells me the wraps you are doing are with fibre or silk in which case this wrapture product may not be suitable as it may just be a glue which will dry brittle and crack, where as the resin is more flexible, i need to know exactly the process you are doing and the products you use.
