Nail Care & Manicures - acrylic nails

Expert: Joanna Panagiotidi - 10/6/2009

Question
I've worn acrylics for over 30 yrs. My regular girl left the salon and now I have a new one. My question is this-do you ever have to remove your acrylic nails? My own nails are all grow out under the acrylics and I've never let them drill off my natural nail underneath. The new nail tech said (my nail are long)that I need to cut them off and remove them, then start over with a completely new set. Why? I don't have lifting or any other problems. Thanks

Answer
Dear Cyndi,

it depends on the nail tech how he or she are doing their job.
As far as my experience leads me, I never heard of having their acrylics for so long. I don't believe you have to cut your nails but I am way over the pond so...the products you might have there are different than ours.

So ... take another opinion from someone closer to your habits and products.

sorry if I didn't help you much but it would be incomplete to get only one opinion.

Waiting for your news.

J.
