I used to get my nails done all the time with arcylic back in high school. so this time around I've really been wanting to get them done but not with acrylic. So i go to this salon and i see crystal, i asked what is the difference since its extra 10$ which didnt bother me. They told me its a powder but it can be applied thinner... so i figured it wasnt acrylic. After looking researching i realized it was acrylic and very disappointed.so i cut down my nails but i tried to use acetone to remove it but acetone doesnt even melt them slightly. If i would have known this i would not have had this procedure done. i found a local spa that does uv gel nails and i will be going there but what should i do about this "crystal" on my nails? i do not want the gel as a fill .. i will be getting a full set..please help asap thank you

Sorry to hear you were duped by the chop shop tactic. There is NO such thing as crystal nails that are thinner. OMG!! These people need to get with the program--not you, those who LIE to the client. If they can do your nails thinner with the crystal, then why not with their MMA? Some GOOD techs have a crystal nail that is clear powder. That is different.
Acetone will NOT remove MMA. You have MMA on your nails.

I feel bad you were taken in by the chop shop. You now need to find a GOOD tech who will put LEGAL product on your nails.
If you came to me, I would not remove the MMA, as you can already see that they do not easily come off. Instead, I file them down and apply my product. Eventually the MMA grows out. Also, they likely destroyed your nail with their dremel.
In the world of nails, you get what you pay for. You may pay more at a good salon with a great nailtech, but you will get awesome nails.
I have three new clients coming next week who found my website and realized they had MMA on. They want no part of those shops ever again. My prices are pretty high for my area, but the clients are paying for top shelf product and my expertise, which comes in the form of classes that I have to travel to take. The nails that come in to me from the chop shops cannot compare to my nails. You will find a tech who does great nails!
