Question Hi,
I just had acrylics put on today for the first time ever. I have never had a manicure or anything like this. I like the way they look but a couple of my fingers hurt to touch. Not terribly, but like they are bruised. My nail beds are naturally terrible, thin, & weak. It takes effort to keep my hands looking nice. Do they just hurt because this I just had them done? They are not read around the nail or anything like that.
Answer Dear Diana,
What I think happened is the feeling of pinching (putting pressure on the top ends of the artificial nail to bend them a bit in the shape of a natural nail is unusual for you and because of your weak nail beds it hurts.
I would wait a few days and if it does not change please go back to the salon and ask them to release the pressure on the ones that hurt most.
