Question
Hello, I just got my first set of acrylic nails last weekend. It has been 4 days since I got them at a local nail salon. I got acrylic white tips and they put a gel on the rest of the nail to fill it in. Everything was great for the first 2 days or so and then I noticed there was a gap between 3 of my nails and the white tips. I was getting stuff in the gap, food and so on, because it was a nice open gap. The nails themselves seemed to sick very well but the gap on the 3 nails just collected everything. Is it normal to have this gap? I was told that it is from my nail not being curved like the acrylic tip was, is this true? Also, just today I noticed the color was turning a faint yellow. I got the french manicure with white tips and it was  beautiful white color with my natural nails color, however, today them seemed to have a yellow haze over them, what would cause this? I go to a tanning bed and was reading that a tanning bed can cause the yellowing, is this true and if so can it be prevented? I loved the nails until I noticed the everything collecting gap and the yellow hint. I was so happy when I first got them but now am a bit soured over getting them again. I took them off myself because I could not get into the salon where I got them down. I soaked them in acetone for 20 minutes and the gel came right off and my natural nails are a little filed but just fine. I want to get some tips again but if they are just going to have the gaps and turn yellow I dont want to waste the money on it. Please help. Could I have gone to a bad salon or did I ruin them (tanning, lotion, etc)? Thanks so much.

Answer
Hi Rachel,

I am not clear on where the gap was. is it underneath? If so the tip was not glued on properly and that could cause alot of issues. It was a good thing you soaked them off.
look up a few of these gel products and find who does them in your area they don't yellow and they last great
