I graduated from nail school in January and just passed my boards this past month. (I had moved thats why it took longer to schedule my test.) Anyway I interviewed with a salon that is interested in having my join their team however I'm rather nervous about it reason being this:
1.While attending nail school I maybe did 6 acrylic sets on my clients (there wasn't a high volume of clients at my school) I enjoy doing them I just feel that I haven't had enough practice.
2.There has already been a high demand for acrylics at this salon so they want me to start right away.
I want to be excited for this opportunity, to make some cash while doing something I enjoy I just don't want to disappoint anyone and I want to do the best work I can.
Do you have any suggestions on how to professionally go about this and suggestions for getting more practice in? Doing fake fingers is SOOOOO different then the real deal.

I would express your reservation to the owner believe me it is hard to find a good tech and knowing your limits is the first step!
I always tell my students in a weeks time you should do a set a day by the end of the week you will have improved sooooo much .It's all about practice and constant practice! See If the salon will offer a deal on the nails you do for the first few weeks its ok to let people know your new then there wont be complaints but helpful criticism!If there are any other tech at the salon have them watch a few of your steps and see if they can give you some helpful advice!
I think being honest and asking for a little help at the beginning is good!
It will help you grow and pass on your knowledge to the next tech!
