Nanotechnology/Gap 1 nm

Question
And if we use more of these plates a shorter length?
Or used special materials, graphene and carbon nano tubes?

Answer
You can use a focussed ion beam to make a 1nm line in a material that is about 30nm thick.  the length of line you can make would be about 200nm.  Graphene falls apart if you cut a line in it, since it is a 2-d material.  You would require a lot of sandwiches with perfect alignment...  Good luck,  Jan
