Question
I am going to arrive in Nashville on a Monday at noon for an event that evening and am not flying out until the next evening.  Any suggestions for sightseeing and casual places to eat, perhaps bbq, in the downtown area?

Answer
BBQ in Downtown- I'd go for Jacks BBQ otherwise for dining I'd go for the atmosphere and food of Merchants.
As far as sightseeing in Downtown I'd go to the Frist Center, Tn State Museum, TN Capitol, Bicentennial Mall Park, Country Music Hall of fame, Hatch Print Shop, Printer's Alley, Fort Nashborough,  and The Arcade. All of these are free except the Frist and the CMHOF.
Hope this helps and that you enjoy your stay
Jan
