Question
My wife is keen to visit plantation and other mansions in Nashville as well as civil war sites. As visitors from Australia we wondered whether there were any organized tours of such sites, or are they easily visited by public transport?

Answer
Yes there are plenty of tour companies in the area to choose from but honestly driving yourself would be the better choice if possible. Public Transportation such as the local bus service MTA or by taxi would not be a good choice because of the time constraints and service of MTA nor by taxi due to the high cost. I'd opt to take a tour bus if a car isn't available.
