Nashville/Cancellation of the Yule Log Lighting Ceremony

Question
We have been going to the Opyrland hotel in Nasville for several years now in December. We look forward to the Yule Log Lighting Ceremony at Opryland Hotel the most. However this year we have been told the ceremony has been cancelled. My family and I are very disapointed and concerned about the cancellation of this long time tradition at the hotel. Do you know why this event has been cancelled and do you know how long this event has been at tradition at the Opryland hotel in Nashville?

Thank you
Tammy Myers

Answer
Hi Tammy,
Yes, the Yule Log Lighting Ceremony was cancelled for this year...I'm hoping it will return again in the future too!

I haven't been able to come up with the actual year it started, but do know that it has been in existance since at least 1987, as I remember attending the ceremony that year.

Hope this helps,
Jan
