Question
Dear Jan:  I am doing some research for a book and wonder where I might find pictures from Nashville during the period 1949-52.  The book is about Hank Williams Sr. and I am interested in the places he frequented both during business and free time.  If you can help, I sure will appreciate it.  Many thanks, Robert Gentry, Many, LA

Answer
I would check with the local archives, but first I would check with some of the businesses in question because they might be willing donate a few pictures to you -the archives normally charge for them.
As far as Melrose Lanes goes, I have a couple of dozen photos, but they are recent (taken right after they closed up in Berry Hill.) Call up the new Melrose Lanes and ask to talk to Mr. Wiley and/or David Lewis, both should have a bundle of photos.

Here's their website
