AboutJan Duke Expertise Whether you are visiting Nashville for a day or a lifetime,I can humbly show and guide you through every aspect of what this great city has to offer.
Experience I've written over 1000 articles about Nashville and/or Tennessee, have one published book on the topic, and have had numerous articles and photographs published locally and throughout the world.
Currently I operate and or run several websites and blogs including Nashville.About.com (for the NYT) as well several other local websites.
I'm a longtime resident of Nashville and Middle Tennessee, having Tennessee Lineages that date back to the 18th century.
My wife and I will be relocating to Nashville from Pittsburgh. We would life to know about the cost of living there as compared to Pittsburgh. We also would like information about the Jewish community and the synagogues throughout Nashville as well. Also, what parts of Nashville would you reccomend newcomers live in?
Thank you.

Answer Hi Leonard,
Here is a link to the local Jewish community: http://www.jewishnashville.org/
and a link to the Nashville Chamber of commerce:
Both of which will be able to give you a better idea of the cost of living and more inclusive information about Nashville's Jewish community too.
Where to live...Gosh tough question, but it really depends on what type of lifestyle you prefer, if your want rural living I would move into one of the surrounding counties like Sumner, for urban living maybe into a downtown loft. Here is a link to our relocation index, it offers informative links into each county and about a dozen or so Nashville Neigborhoods.
