Question My husband will be starting a new career the end of July. I will be unable to relocate with him until our youngest son graduates in May 2008. He will be needing to find housing etc. Any good resources for beginning the relocation process.
Answer Yikes that's a big question.
If it were me I would have him contact his new employer and figure out what part of town he will be working in and then find an apartment that is willing to sign a short term lease, then begin looking for a home.
You can also go to the Vanderbilt Univ. Website and if you dig around a bit you can find a few places/people who rent out rooms in that area.
Nashville has several hundred neighborhoods and many folks commute in from around 10 different counties so if you figure out what your price range is on a home and the type of neighborhood (city dweller, farming community, historic, schools, etc) that you are searching for let me know and I'll try to narrow it down a bit for you.
