Question
My husband is part Cherokee and we thought it might be fun, as first time grandparents, to be called "grandfather" and "Grandmother"  or "elder"   I can find the translations, but I don't know how to pronounce them correctly using english pronounciations. Can you help me? Any other suggestions would be great. My husband is what you would call a "man of many horses"....he was born a century too soon!! Thanks ever so much, tina

Answer
Hi Tina,

What a great idea and congrats on the new grandchild. Here is a site that has a pronunciation guide. You can also follow it to many other very interesting pages on the Cherokee. It's one of my favorite websites to suggest.

BTW..this question came to me twice so later I will be sending a "this is a duplicate question" response.
