Question
I live in Panama City Beach, in NW Florida. I like to grow plants in large pots on my patio that gets the full morning light. Throughout the Fall, Winter and Spring I have success with a variety of annuals. However, what can I grow in the heat of the summer that will withstand the heat in a large terra cotta planter.

Answer
Good morning Kathleen, I live in Panama City, FL (small world isn't it), and have roses, citrus trees, palm trees, and carnivorous plants in terra cotta planters. The list of plants which do well in full sun is long so I won't list it here. Your preference should be the deciding factor in selecting what to grow. I personally like sarracenia leucophylla and sundews for their unusual characteristics and their ability to catch mosquitoes, ants and gnats. Have a nice day, George
