Subject: unusual cycle

Question
I am on day 27 of my cycle. (I am 25 years old.) This is my 5th cycle since weaning my son. About 4 weeks ago I started taking  an herbal supplement that causes my body to make more estrogen. This is my problem: my cervix and mucus signs of fertility came and went and came back again. At the same time my daily temperatures have been almost completely level. Which means that it's day 27 of my cycle and according to my temperatures, I have not ovulated yet. In an ordinary cycle, my period would be starting in 2 or 3 days. What's going on here?

Answer
Probably just an unusual cycle, without ovulation.  It can take your body a bit of time to get back to normal.  Your period may or may not start in a couple of days.  You may ovulate later on and have a longer cycle this month.  This is not abnormal unless it goes on for several months, then you might want to consider some other issues are going on.  Just be patient and wait and see what happens.  Let me know in a couple of weeks what happened.  Don't worry for sure.
