Question Hello, my 18 year old son has been suffering from severe treatment-resistant OCD for many years now. We've tried various treatments including antidepressants, therapy, herbs, amino acids, vitamins, homeopathy, bach flowers, acupuncture, energy healing, inositol, liver cleansing, etc. But nothing works. He is on gluten-free, dairy-free, preservative-free diet. Now we are guessing he might have some toxins or/and parasites that might stand on the way of his progress. What would you recommend as a quick and efficient detox? Thank you!
Answer Hello Yuriy
I believe OCD is a physiological problem and you have to treat it as such.
Your body is a system. Something is not functioning propertly - find the root cause of the problem and fix that and the system should function properly.
The first thing you ask is if your brain is low on serotonin, then what is causing it to be low on sertonin?
There are numerous possibilities (toxicity is probably most common).
Everyone is toxic to some level because of impurities in the foods we eat, air we breath and environment we live in.
1.Most people have parasites in their gut that release toxins that can contribute to OCD.
2.Heavy metal poisoning can also be a cause (chronic mercury poisoning from "silver" amalgam fillings.
3.They do say that all disease begins in the colon.
I think that these can be reasons why serotonin levels are low.
The brain needs to be nurished with fatty acids. Maybe because people are toxic and not digesting fatty acids could be a reason.
The first approach is to get rid of sources of toxicity in your body:
A parasite cleanse,
A heavy metal detox, also liver and colon cleanses which should be done a few times a year.
And regularly take large doses of fish oil and flax oil.
