Question dear ma'am :
I have a sever case of Candida , I have used different vaginal gels like clotrimazole , triamcinolone N.N , betamethasone ... but seems nothing works permanently , it's really irritating , the monthly cycle of the bad smell & the cheese like leaky gut! what should I do ? dieting is so hard because I have sugar problems .
Answer Dear Arezoo,
If you you have done several rounds of over-the-counter treatments for candida, there is a strong likelihood that what you have is not a yeast infection. If you have not already done so, you should have a vaginal culture performed by your gynecologist to see if there is another organism causing the problem.
Another possible problem would be that you are being repeatedly reinfected. This can happen if your sexual partner has candida. This is very often not symptomatic in men, so it can be hard to know. If you cannot both get to a doctor, you might try BOTH doing an over the counter treatment together, then obtaining from sex for a solid week after completing treatment. In the interim, it's a good idea to supplement a good probiotic - either in pills or in a good yogurt for a month or so.
But first advice - go get a culture so you know what you really have.
Please let me know if you need any additional information.
