Question Hi doc my nmae is Pankaj. I am a male of 22 .since last 2 weeks i am experiencing rapid heart beat. Whole day i remain normal but when i eat dinner i start sweating and after some time when i go to sleep rapid heart beat starts and i am unable to sleep for a long time. After some time when rapid heart beat stops i go to sleep. I am very worried. It only happens at night and not at daytime.I also experience some vibration in my legs and it is more intense on my left side including heart also. I have no disease. I dont drink or smoke. I am a vegeterian . No family history of heart disease. Only my father is suffering from type 2 diabetes at 50. The only problem i have is that i am overweight by 10 -15 kgs. Please help me.
Answer Hello Pankaj,
Thanks for writing. It's hard to speculate on what might be going on, so I would strongly suggest you see a doctor in your area to have this further evaluated. It's not normal for someone your age, even overweight, to have these symptoms. It could very well be something minor, but could be a sign of a more serious problem with the cardiovascular system, so you need to have it investigated. Once you know what's going on, or at least rule out some more serious conditions, you can move forward with finding some treatments that work for you.
In health,
Dr Conner
