Question Hey there.
My names Hugh and Im 17. When I was over in europe i sat down on some stone steps, and not look what i was doing, hit the base of my spine with my fool body weight and his has been sore ever sinse. Ive been to the chiro and hes done some reajustments and he said to prop myself up with a pillow when i sit so i dont slouch. Is there anything else I can do to help my back recover. The pain is usually in the lower and middle back and i get sore legs sometimes. i use to get headaches and sore arms but theyve cleared up mostly.
thanks for your time.
Answer Hi, Hugh,
The thing to check is whether the muscles of your back are very tight and sore. You check this lying down on your belly by reaching back with your hand to feel.
If so, there are some things you can do.
First, see the articles on back pain at somatics.com/page4.htm.
One contains a self-help exercise.
If your problem is more difficult than that exercise can help, there is an audio instructional program with more sophisticated exercises, Free Yourself from Back Pain. Send for a free preview by sending email to back2@somatics.com.
Your best bet, however, may be to see a somatics practitioner. The list is available through the Practitioners link in the navigation bar at the top of pages on somatics.com.
