Question
I am looking for information regarding this particular sampler.  I am researching it for my art class and have found no information regarding incongraphy as it is presented in this sampler.  If you have any information that would shed light on the meaning of the various elements present in the sampler I would greatly appreciate your assitance.  I have searched diligently to find information on this matter and have found nothing.  Thank you in advance for your help.

Answer
HI Teri,
I found this picture of the sampler

http://www.wsu.edu/~fa308310/fa308/c5.jpg

It was found on this site

http://www.wsu.edu/~fa308310/fa308/colonial.html

Here are sites discussing the word

http://orthodoxwiki.org/Icon

http://www.bartleby.com/65/ic/iconogra.html

I did a search on Yahoo for the word "iconography"  there were other sites listed also.

I hope this gives you a starting point for your research.
