AboutHenry Babcock Expertise I learned needlepoint from my grandmother over 30 years ago. I can answer most questions on the subject. I know about producing needlepoint as well as cleaning, repairing and restoring.
Question Hi, I have a 14" x 11" cotton canvas/Persian wool needlepoint. I would like to make it into a pillow. But I'm unable to locate a 14" x 11" pillow form for the middle/stuffing part of the pillow.
Do you know where I might locate one, please? Or have any ideas how I might make this into a pillow?
I pretty much have only the Internet as a source for materials because I live in the TN hills, about 4 hours round trip to Nashville of 2 hours to a smaller town. Not too many stores.
Thank you very much for any help or ideas.
Answer Sue Ann,
I don't like to buy new filling for pillows. I tend to recycle the fill from old fiber-fill pillows or cushions. I try to find them at thrift stores or garage sales. You can sew the cover for the inner form out of the inner fabric from the pillow you are recycling or any leftover cloth you have around.
If you would like to get new filling, or a new insert, try searching the Internet for "pillow inserts" or "pillow forms". You should be able to find forms of any size and/or the filling materials of your choice.
