Question
Henry, I have a needlepoint stool that my grandmother did and it is worn from use.  The threads and the canvas are completely gone in some areas.  You mentioned in an answer to someone else that new canvas could be woven into the old if it was removed from the stool.  How is this done?  Do you have instructions for doing this?
PS My maiden name is Babcock!!  Maybe we are related!!!

Answer
Marcia,

Sounds like you have a big project ahead of you.  The instructions for repairing the canvas would be too much to answer in this format.

I recommend you get a copy of "The Needlework Doctor" by Mary Kay Davis.  She includes detailed instructions with photos for repairing damaged canvas.  You should be able to get it from a library, or take a look on Half.com.

Yes, maybe we are related!

Hope this helps,

Henry Babcock
