Needlepoint - Faded Needlepoint Design

Question
Hi,
I started work on a needlepoint pillow about 20 years ago, but I never completed the project.  I'd like to finish it now, but the design which was either painted or printed on the canvas is now so faded I cannot differentiate among the similar colors.  I do have an old picture of what the finished product should look like (it was part of the original kit).  Other than trying to eyeball the design based on the photo, is there anything I can do to see the design on the canvas?

Thank you.
Deborah

Answer
HI Deborah
The only thing I can think of is to make a color print of the original picture

once you have the print, enlarge it

now you can either place graph paper, the kind you can see thru and trace the picture.

Or you can use a permanent marker to draw on the canvas so you can see the pattern, but only use the permanent kind so that they won't blead if wet.
