Question
Have a fingerprint makeup mark on my canvas

Have you any ideas how to remove this without leaving a mark

Answer
Jane,

I'm not clear on whether the soil is on an unstitched canvas or a finished piece.

I've been trying to do some research on what make-up is made of.  I haven't come across anything definitive.  To advise you on the proper direction to take, I'd have to know the nature of the soil (i.e. what the make-up is made of) as well as the materials used in the piece of needlework.

If it is a finished piece of needlework, you will probably want to consult with a professional as to the proper course of action.  Try doing a search online for "needlepoint cleaning" or "needlepoint rug cleaning".

I wish I could be more help.

Thanks for your inquiry,

Henry Babcock
