Needlepoint/Stitches

Question
I've almost completed a piece except for the cats eyes...I'd like to start in the center and do straight stitches to the outside perimenter, returning to the center and circling the complete eye...if I could draw this, it'd be easy to describe...is this a stitch? or not? and can it be done without too much thickness or distorting the canvas? Do you have an idea(stitch)that will work? or work better? Thanks!!! Glynnda

Answer
HI Glynnda,
here is a site with a lot of the needlepoint stitches diagramed.

i think any of the star type stitches would work, they start in the center and go out straight.
