Expert: Gary Bell Date: 3/5/2008 Subject: How to reach medium size businesses buyers
Question Hi, I need advice in how to contact medium or large size retail stores to offer my products. I manufacture contemporary furniture and up to the moment I sell only retail but want to begin selling wholesale. Can you give me advice in how to aproach and how to find phones or names of purchasers in this companies?
Thanks, Flavio
Answer Sorry for the delay.
Look up distributors and retailers of furniture online through goggle and/or YAHOO! I suggest you create a "portfolio" of your products on a DVD/CD and include an "electronic brochure" with details about you, your furniture and the ways you are willing to work with retailers. Visit the retailers that are accessible to you and call the rest, ask for their buyer's name, address and phone. If they won't give it to you, mail a packet, with the CD/DVD and a cover letter addressed to "Buyer" C/O the store. I suggest you do lots of homework before visiting. They will want to know if they can get furniture via custom order, on consignment, etc.
